This Privacy Policy explains how Couch Crew App, operated by Agah Smith ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Couch Crew mobile application (the "App"). Questions? Email hello@couchcrew.app.
By using the App, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
When you create an account we collect your email address and a hashed password. Authentication is provided by Supabase Inc. on our behalf.
You may optionally provide a display name, avatar image, and short personal quote. These are visible to other users of the App.
We store the movies and TV shows you add to your watchlist or mark as watched, the personal ratings (1–10) and written reviews you create, the friend ("Film Crew") connections you make, and the recommendations you send or receive.
If you subscribe to Couch Crew Pro or send a tip, the purchase is processed by Apple. We do not see or store your payment card details. We receive a transaction identifier and subscription status from RevenueCat, which we use to unlock paid features.
The App may automatically collect limited technical information such as your device model, operating system version, app version, and crash logs. This is used solely to fix bugs and improve performance.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos (other than an avatar you explicitly upload), microphone or camera input, advertising identifiers, or browsing activity outside the App. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics tracking SDKs that share data across apps.
We use the information described above only to:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, watchlist, ratings, reviews, and friend connections within 30 days, except where we are required to retain limited information for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
You can delete your account at any time from inside the App at Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing hello@couchcrew.app.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@couchcrew.app. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally 30 days).
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Our legal bases for processing are: (a) performance of our contract with you (to provide the App); (b) our legitimate interests (to keep the App secure and improve it); and (c) your consent, where required. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and Row-Level Security on the database so users can only access their own data. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our service providers may process your information in the United States or other countries. Where required by law (for example, for EU/UK users), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the App or by email at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
